Central Pharmacy is an independently owned pharmacy located in beautiful Santa Monica, California. We are devoted to providing friendly, exceptional, personalized service to each and every one of our customers. Central Pharmacy has been privately owned and managed by since 1992, and the majority of our staff members have been part of the Central Pharmacy team from 10 to 20 years! Because of this, we have established a great reputation for ourselves and take great pride in giving extra special service and highly individualized attention to our customers -many of them are like our family.
We are a "hybrid pharmacy" which means that in addition to filling your traditional prescriptions and over-the-counter medications, we also have a fully equipped Non-Sterile Compounding lab and specially-trained staff who can prepare custom, compounded medications and formulations for Hormone Replacement Therapy, Pain Management, Dermatology, Autism, Veterinary Medicine, and much more.
Central Pharmacy’s Compounding Lab is fully equipped with the highest quality equipment, and our staff members have special training and credentials for compounding to guarantee that your customized prescriptions are prepared accurately every time. Our lab is certified as a “negative pressure” lab for hazardous drugs which ensures that all powders stay within the lab and do not expose our customers while protecting our employees. We are all about SAFTEY FIRST!
We also use only the finest chemicals and powders from the most respected labs in the industry. In addition, Central Pharmacy stands out from many other compounding pharmacies because we routinely send samples of our compounded medications to an independent laboratory to analyze for potency testing to ensure that we are dispensing the proper strength of medication that has been ordered by your physician.

Because of our special expertise in compounding, we have been featured on several television shows, including The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Doctors (with a visit to our pharmacy from Robin McGraw.) Since our compounding lab opened in 2005, we have grown into the most recognized and well-respected compounding pharmacy in Santa Monica and beyond!
We offer a variety of shipping options to choose from including First Class Mail, Priority Mail, and various delivery speeds with Fed Ex including overnight and Saturday delivery.
Also, if English is not your first language, between all of our staff members we are able to assist you in Spanish and Farsi.

HISTORY
Central Pharmacy opened in the late 1940’s as a small “mom and pop” store with its original location on Wilshire Blvd. near 4th street in Santa Monica, California. Currently at 20th and Wilshire (2008 Wilshire Blvd).
In 2006, Central Pharmacy was in a much smaller space over near Wilshire Blvd and 4th Street in Santa Monica
In 1992 Sharon Steen became a co-owner of Central Pharmacy with Pharmacist Ira Goldfarb. Over the next few years she turned it from a prescription-only store into a diverse, modern pharmacy with a variety of natural products, over-the-counter medicines, and quality supplements.
In 2005, Central Pharmacy began offering its customers COMPOUNDED MEDICATIONS. Business began to grow and then in 2009 the pharmacy moved into a larger space just five blocks away on Wilshire Blvd. near 9th street. The larger space allowed for a much more expansive laboratory area needed for the growing compounding portion of the business.
Central Pharmacy is currently located at 2008 Wilshire Blvd. in Santa Monica. We moved in late February 2018 to build out a fully compliant lab to meet new Pharmacy regulations for safety and ventilation. (Click here to see photos from our beautiful new location!)

Hours of Operation
Central pharmacy is open from 8:30am until 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. We are closed on Saturday and Sunday and ALL major holidays. We are also closed on the day AFTER Thanksgiving so please prepare for your refills in advance if possible! If our hours are not convenient for you please ask about our shipping options!

SHARON STEEN
Owner, Manager
Owner of Central Pharmacy since 1992
Part of the Central Pharmacy team since 1987
Sharon began her pharmacy career in 1985 as a Pharmacy Technician at a hospital in Portland, Oregon. She attended the University of Oregon (go Ducks!) and Portland State University, majoring in Medical Sciences and Business Administration. In 1987 Sharon moved to Los Angeles and became co-owner of Central Pharmacy in 1992.
Sharon and her husband, Dave, are avid golfers and hikers and huge animal lovers. They live just outside Los Angeles with their beloved dogs Mollie (Puggle) and Spencer (Cavalier K.C.Spaniel) and their cats Callie, Milo and Mia.
Sharon is also a Certified Vaccinating Technician!
MONA SADRI, Pharm D
Traditional Pharmacist/Compounding Pharmacist
Mona grew up in Ann Arbor, MI and studied for her Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Michigan. After graduation she moved to Los Angeles and began working for a pharmacy chain. After 4 years she was craving something more personable and fulfilling, and moved on to a job at a “boutique” pharmacy where she realized her true interest and appreciation for compounding and the ability to offer an alternative to patients that don’t respond to traditional forms of treatment. We were so lucky to cross paths with her after she took time off to travel and she has become a very trusted employee and amazing Pharmacist here at Central!
She joined the Central Pharmacy team in May of 2018.
In her free time, Mona likes to head to the beach or explore new places around the city and takes every opportunity she can to travel.
Mona is also a Certified Vaccinating Pharmacist!
MARJAN YERMIAN, Pharm D
Traditional & Compounding Pharmacist, Hormone Specialist
Part of the Central Pharmacy team since 2009 and current Pharmacist-in-Charge.
Marjan grew up in Santa Monica, earned a B.S. in Neuroscience from UCLA, and received her Doctorate degree in Pharmacy Sciences from USC. She joined the Central Pharmacy team in 2009.
Although she is very well versed in all types of Compounding, one of Marjan's many specialties is Hormone Replacement Therapy for men and women. She works with physicians on a daily basis to make sure they and their patients are aware of the latest information on their medication(s).
She also LOVES animals, which has fueled a desire to widen her compounding knowledge to include all kinds of furry friends and is Central Pharmacy's Veterinary Compounding Specialist.
JACKIE ELIAS, CPhT
Head Pharmacy Technician / Assistant Manager
Part of the Central Pharmacy team since 2004
Jackie was initially hired at Central Pharmacy as a front desk clerk, but quickly moved up into a technician position. She passed her National Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam in 2007 and is considered an expert in her field. Jackie has learned the “ins and outs” of insurance billing and can tackle any problem placed before her.
Personally, Jackie loves that Central Pharmacy is a small independent business where the team knows most of their customers on a first name basis. She considers her staff members part of her family. Her positive outlook and bubbly personality make her a joy to work with.
Jackie recently completed her first L.A. marathon in March of 2019! Now THAT’S hard work! Congrats Jackie! Jackie is also a proud Mom to her amazing daughter!
Jackie is a Certified Vaccinating Technician!
ERIKA NEVAREZ-GONZALEZ, CPhT
Compounding Pharmacy Technician
Part of the Central Pharmacy team since 1999
Erika began her pharmacy career in 1996 as a clerk at a chain drugstore. A few years later, the opportunity to work at Central Pharmacy came up and she became our next pharmacy technician shortly thereafter. In 2005 Erika passed the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam. She left Central Pharmacy in 2007 to raise her two boys and we were more than happy to welcome her back two years later.
Erika has an extensive understanding of pharmacy work and has a great sense of humor. She enjoys working at Central Pharmacy because of the family-type atmosphere and is happy to have joined our compounding team.
In her free time Erika loves scrap booking and bike riding at the beach and spending time with her 2 boys.
VERONICA RAMIREZ
Traditional Pharmacy Technician, Compounding Technician, Customer Service Specialist
Part of the Central Pharmacy team since 2010
Veronica began her pharmacy career at an independent pharmacy in West Los Angeles and was actually trained by our very own Pharmacist Marjan Yermian! She has worked as a pharmacy technician since 2007, joining the Central Pharmacy team in 2010.
Veronica is an extremely versatile, thorough, hard worker with a great attitude. Over the years, she has always made a great effort to continually learn and develop new skills, and because of this she has excelled in every department at Central Pharmacy - including in our compounding lab.
Friendliness and patience are two of Veronica’s strong suits, and she always makes sure to take her time with every customer and give each person equal attention!
Veronica is also a Certified Vaccinating Technician!
VICTORIA PEREZ
Traditional & Compounding Pharmacy Technician
Part of the Central Pharmacy team since 2018
Victoria is our newest member of the Central team joining us in 2018 as a front clerk/technician. She quickly expressed interest in compounding and is now a vital part of our Compounding Technician staff. Victoria loves working in the lab and creating your favorite compounds! Outside of work Victoria is a dedicated and loving Mom to her 2 beautiful young children.
