History

Central Pharmacy is an independently owned pharmacy located at 4th St. and Wilshire Blvd in beautiful downtown Santa Monica, California just 5 blocks from the Pacific Ocean. The historic building has been home to a pharmacy since the 1920’s and has been known as “Central Pharmacy” for over 50 years. The building was completely re-modeled in 1998 at which time the pharmacy expanded to include a more extensive line of high-quality vitamins and herbs, as well as unique gifts and over-the-counter sundries. The look and ambiance created by natural stone, hardwood floors, and the huge fountain that greets you at the entrance is unique and very calming and inviting (unlike the sterile coldness of most pharmacies!).

More recently Central Pharmacy has again re-modeled and upgraded its facilities to include a state-of-the-art compounding area containing the highest quality chemicals and latest equipment to make customized medications for your special prescription needs.

We have evolved along with the city of Santa Monica in the last 20 years, but we still have that “old-fashioned” good service mentality that is hard to come by these days! Our commitment to quality, friendly service, and having a professional, knowledgeable staff continues to make Central Pharmacy the neighborhood’s favorite drugstore.
